LANAPⓇ

Enjoy Comfortable Care and a Faster Return to Oral Health with LANAP

As periodontal experts and leaders in our field, our team at Michigan Implants and Periodontics offers LANAP® (laser assisted new attachment procedure), a modern solution to the common oral problem of gum disease. LANAP laser gum disease treatment is an advanced treatment protocol that gently and comfortably treats active periodontal infection, arresting the disease process and providing a faster return to oral health.

What Is LANAP Laser Gum Disease Treatment

Designed to treat moderate to severe cases of periodontitis, LANAP laser gum disease treatment is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional osseous or gum surgery methods. To perform LANAP gum disease treatment, we use the advanced PerioLase® MVP-7® laser. This precision soft tissue laser specifically targets harmful bacteria and areas of infected tissue deep below the gum line. Backed by science and years of proven results, the LANAP protocol is highly successful in treating localized to generalized areas of gum disease without causing collateral damage to surrounding healthy areas.

What to Expect From the LANAP Process

Well-trained and experienced in offering LANAP at our Ann Arbor, MI, practices, our periodontists are proud to offer this modern technology to our patients. Although complex, the LANAP process is relatively simple for the patient, and often is completed within two visits:

A small amount of local anesthetic is applied to treatment areas to ensure comfort

The dental laser is directed into periodontal pockets, or active areas of infection

Bacteria and diseased tissue are vaporized

Tartar is targeted, and mechanically removed by our team

The laser is passed over treatment areas, once again, to form a natural clot

The clots seal off spaces between the teeth and gums to protect treatment areas

The healing process begins almost immediately following completion of LANAP treatment
